Today was the closing day of our Annual Post Card Show. 120 Artists put a small pic in and over 11 days people place bids on a card below each picture. I didnt realise it, but 10 of those artists were previous Archibald Prize Winners. (for all yawl foreigners the Archibald is our National Art Prize. Its a big deal here) In the final hour they take the top 5 bids and have a hammer auction till all sold. So you can imagine my shock and surprise today when I was number 3 of the top 5. I was right behind Ray Crooke, who Ive known about since he was in my "Handbook of Art" text book back in the 70s. in High School. Davida Allen. Euan MacLe

"Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap.
